End of another year

Today is the last working day for this calendar year. Soon we say goodbye to 2017.

It has been a year full of changes, challenges and learning for me personally.

2017 began with me being unemployed but soon I found a job with Developmental Services and worked there until I was blessed with the bank teller job at FirstBank.

I joined Origami Owl this year and have learned so much about the jewelry company and a business that blesses me in so many ways.

In September, David and I exchanged wedding vows which made me a "Mrs." again. :)

It is very hard to tell in the corporate world today when a job is secure or when they are about to let you go. Do you feel secure in where you work? Most people I know  have a side job to make extra money or they plan on leaving corporate world to work for themselves. I have had a home business for almost 15 years and the money from candles, tote bags and jewelry has definitely paid bills over the years and paid for extras too.

I have no idea where 2018 is going to take us, but I have a few things in mind.

Tuesday the 2nd is my dear David's 50th Birthday and I can't wait to celebrate with him! There will be Red Velvet cupcakes involved with one of our gatherings this week.

I have also gone back to 'planner land' and will be using a planner again after a break from them.

One goal for 2018 is to attend the Origami Owl Convention in July. I have already put in for the time off at the bank.

Most years of late, I chose a word or phrase for the coming year. My friend Jessica asked us Thursday what our word was for the coming year. I have chosen the words Confidence and Hope for 2018.

Whatever you do for goal-setting as we go into the new year, be sure to make the goals measurable, reachable and I hope you work weekly to get there.

If you party this weekend away from home, be sure and get a sober ride home or call AAA for tow-to-go ride.

As always, if you need assistance, please don't hesitate to call the hotline and get out of an abusive situation! 1-800-799-7233
