Snow Day!

Our first snowfall of 2018 is upon us.

We were told by the forecasters mid-week that we might see as much as 3-5 inches of snow this weekend. I was very skeptical because we so rarely get anything other than icy roads for a day or two here in Middle Tennessee.

The forecasters said we would have a massive temperature drop and then freezing rain and snow to follow.  Well, It actually happened!

I am so glad I went grocery shopping on Wednesday after work!!

When I went to sleep on Thursday night, the temperature was about 59 degrees. When I woke up at 5 am, It was 18 degrees and the roads/driveway were wet but nothing was falling in our neighborhood. I got in my car and drove to work without any issues but anxious about what was coming.  I would work at the bank watching the freezing rain accumulate and watching the ground be covered with freezing rain until it was white.  Our branch closed at 1 and we all left telling each other to be careful and check in once we got home. I drove home in 9-10 minutes and only saw ice on the overpasses on my route home.

My hands were shaking once I parked the car and I had a major coughing spell which was triggered by my nerves being shot. But I was so thankful to be home for the rest of the day.

We watched the snow fall the rest of the day and watched television, even the news just to see the weather reports.

This morning David headed into work and said the main roads were clear but our street was very slick.

My plans for the day include very mundane things but I am so thankful to have a warm home, fridge and cupboards with food to eat and the necessities that I often take for granted.

Check on your neighbors, family and friends!!
I will be here working on a couple of crochet projects and some online sales.
Be kind to others!!
