I have lots on my mind this evening. I am trying to stack it all together so it makes some sense here in the blog.
David and I started this week on Sunday night going to our favorite Sushi place in Nashville to celebrate my new job and Valentine's all in one dinner/date night. Neither of us needs a day on the calendar to remind us to tell each other how we feel. Some folks like to do all out for Valentine's and that is certainly their choice.
I was offered a job as office assistant with a local CPA firm here in Dickson last Friday and I accepted the job on Saturday. I started Monday the 12th and there is definitely a learning curve to learn and absorb all I can while helping the office run smoothly.
I am happy to say that my computer skills are being used every day and I am already finishing projects as I learn the ropes of tax season, accounting and financial services.
The Olympics are going on in South Korea and we are watching them at night. It has been great to see these accomplished athletes compete and earn medals. My biggest concern for these athletes, spectators and all the media/journalists is hoping and praying that North Korea doesn't take the Olympics and say "Oooh a target, lets attack!".
What's new here in Dickson? We have a Jersey Mike's franchise again! They really pushed the marketing and took samples/sandwiches/coupons around town to be sure that they were packed on Opening Day (which was February 14). I got there about 12:15 yesterday and there was at least 15 people in front of me and the line was moving great, we got great food and I am so happy to have another lunch spot here in town.
What gives you happiness? Is it preparing a meal for loved ones? Is it created a beautiful dessert for an event? Is it leading a group of youngsters on a camping trip? Is it leading a team to a well-earned win in a sporting event?
Take the time, no MAKE the time to do what gives you joy! My goal this summer is to earn my way to attend 02 convention in July. I need to sell some afghans, lots of candles and lots of jewelry. Give me a goal and I will work on it!
