Seeking & Following

Over my lifetime I have sought happiness in other people and in things. I learned over and over again there is no happiness in things or other people.

We must choose a happy attitude inside on a daily basis to have that happiness shine through. Many people have commented how glad they are that I am so happy these days. I tell them thank you but I want folks to know that a person cannot make another person happy unless you want it on the inside.

I had to let go of a lot a past hurts, pain and disappointments and learn to love myself as I am before I was anywhere near lovable to another person on this earth. Yes, I still have bad days where things crowd in and threaten my peace of mind, but I push through them to get things done at work or here at home.

I was not seeking anyone the day I met David. I was just at the restaurant having an early dinner with a dear friend after a long day of driving and candle workshop/training.

I am so thankful he called and we got to know each other. He does make my life so much richer. What does he do?

He encourages me to try new recipes, to get back in the kitchen and just rest if I need to.
He loves me the way I am and has not tried once to change anything about me.
He doesn't put me down or fuss if he doesn't like something. He will ask about it and we talk it out, but there is no ridicule, verbal abuse, mind games or violence involved. This home we have built is the most peaceful place I have lived in many, many years.

I learned long ago to take every day as a lesson and try to learn something new along the way. My friend Renee B used to say look at things as an opportunity instead of an obstacle. That has stayed with me all these years.

Think about who you follow on social media (all of them, facebook, instagram, youtube, etc.) and ask yourself why do you follow them????? Check that list and get rid of the ones that are not feeding your goals and aspirations. If they are not feeding you, they are feeding off of you. No one wants an energy vampire around.
