Often times, when a door closes, I imagine myself in a hallway waiting for the next door to open.
My friend Linda and I have many times we have said it is time to praise and worship in the hallway of life until things change.
This past Labor Day weekend, I hit a brick wall with lack of jobs to apply to in my hometown of Dickson. So after talking it over with my hubby, I made the leap and sat down to apply for every admin type job open on the State website that was in Davidson County. I knew in my heart/head that I have the skills to do the work and I just had to try again until something came my way.
I have been praying all summer for direction on what to apply for and where to look for a new job. I need a job with insurance and enough income to pay the bills and have some wiggle room. I thought with my 20 years experience in State Government, I might just take a chance at going back to State Government if I qualified for anything.
I know the process involves applying online, receiving an email that they received your application, then about a week later you get a letter asking you to complete an online survey and then you wait for the next round of email letters saying you made it through Round One and are now on their eligibility list and you wait for the interview request letter. Then you set up your interview and wait at least another week to hear either come in for 2nd interview, a job offer or we chose another candidate.
I applied to 13 different admin/accounting/support positions over Labor Day weekend and the surveys came last week and this week, I am starting to receive the round one complete letters in my email box.
Please continue to pray for me on this journey. God knows what I need and I know He is in control of all of this mess we call life.
David and I went to Nashville to get Sushi for our Anniversary Date Night on Sunday. It was fun and great food as always at Sonobana.
Today is a somber day with most of us recalling where we were on 9.11.01. Have a moment of silence, pray for our first responders and law enforcement and all the lives lost that day and families changed forever. It did not just affect NY, NJ, DC and PA, this affected us all.
So join me today praying and praising God in this hallway.
