Sundays

Does anyone else feel like, WHEW, we got through one holiday and now onto December?

Sitting here at home on a quiet Sunday Morning is such a blessing to me. I definitely needed the days off to recharge. I did not participate in the black Friday shopping at the brick and mortar stores. In fact, I did not leave the house on Friday or Saturday.

I finished up the blanket for Abby and now I am working on baby blankets for a friend in New Mexico.

I love finishing projects and looking back over the other photos watching the blanket come together. It is one thing to see the yarn colors in a photo, and even buying the yarn and starting the project, I am not always sure the colors will work together and I am very pleased when it turns out better than I envisioned.

My mom crochets too and she is on a solid color kick right now and has a teal/gray granny square that is beautiful while in progress and I look forward to seeing the finished project.

I tend to 'cheat' because I love the cake yarns with multiple colors already put together for me. I just have to do the stitches to create the scarf, shawl or blanket.

I am planning a coffee/crochet gathering for December 1st and I hope at least one person can come over and we can talk crochet, patterns, yarn, ideas on Saturday morning. I enjoy the gatherings at the yarn shop in Kingston Springs, I just don't like the drive, so my idea is to have something here at the house with coffee and snacks and time to visit with friends.

I am not exactly sure what direction this blog will take, but I can feel that it is changing. I will tell what is going on here, voice my opinion on subjects that I feel strongly about and I will always be an advocate for victims of domestic violence. I am always here to listen, or just keep the coffee hot and we and just spend time together watching tv or crocheting if you like.

If you are in danger, please seek assistance locally or call the hotline if you don't know where to go in your area 1-800-799-7233. The other night, on channel 5 news the reporter said they were going to show the hotline numbers on the screen and they never did. I know they probably put them on the website next to a story they ran, however, I really wanted the local news to share the information openly and not make people search for it.
