December in the South

I consider myself a southern gal since most of my life has been lived in TN, GA and overseas thanks to the US Army.

As I reflect on where I was this time last year vs. here in 2018, I am amazed at all the changes and yet how things stayed the same.

Life moved on, people were born and people passed from this life.
People lost jobs and got new jobs or found a business to earn an income.

If you are lucky, you continued to learn this year and hopefully, you laughed (even at yourself) as the year marched on.

I don't think much about my eye surgery except when trying to drive at night. They warned me my sight would completely change and they were correct. It is very difficult for me to drive at night and because of that and the lovely time change (being dark at 5 pm), I do most of my errands during the day and only drive home after work is done.

This means I am not available for vendor events or even the ya ya nights up at the yarn store in Kingston Springs. This makes me sad, but I make up for it by going over to Mom's on Saturday mornings to crochet with her as often as I can.

This past weekend a storm came through our area but it went north and here in Dickson, the streets (that I traveled) did not see any accumulation. So there were no issues driving the days I was out and about. I love snow and photos of snow but I hate driving in it because I have been in 2 horrible car wrecks in snowy/icy weather and lived to tell the stories. I would prefer you stay safe than to risk driving when conditions are not at their best.

There will be many crochet gifts under my tree this year for those I love and care for. We will be in Memphis for Christmas this year and that is Parish family tradition that I learned early on and I treasure the memories made each year.

Stay safe, love on each other and have a Merry Christmas!
