Some folks are very opinionated about leftovers.
I know people who hate leftovers and rarely eat them. I also know families that fix large meals and eat the leftovers for a few days until all the food is eaten.
After my first divorce, I was in a very hurt filled place mentally and I viewed myself as leftovers because my spouse had abandoned me and the children. I was a single mom for 11 years and it took a long time to take another chance with relationships.
As I was washing dishes last night I was thinking about leftovers and how they can be used again in a different recipe to create another meal. Then it hit me that this is exactly what God does with us.
He takes our broken pieces (or leftovers) and puts them back together into something amazing that we could never have seen because of the pain we are suffering.
God is always there to help us and bless us. We just have to turn to him and allow him to work in us by following his laws.
Waiting on God to work is not always easy but we must remember he is always working on our behalf. Jesus is constantly praying for us ("interceding for u"s - Rom. 8:34)
Even if you think you have messed up so much that God cannot help you, I guarantee you that God has always been there and you are allowed to make U-turns. You cannot do so much bad that God will not forgive you.
Please don't wait to be good enough to join your local church. Visit a Bible-Based church, follow their teaching, ask questions, join a Bible Class and get involved. God works on us from the inside out. Go to services for yourself, no one else. You are attending to worship your Lord and Savior.
