Choose Joy

As we wind down the month of May, things are starting to open back up here in our town and the bigger towns around us. That is a relief but caution should still be in play.

Maybe during all of this pandemic and shutdown, we have learned to value family time, found new hobbies and new ways to pass the day. Hopefully we have found ways to connect that we never thought of before.

In spite of the isolation, It is a joy to me to see how many churches have found ways to get their message out and encourage people they may not have reached otherwise. The Church is the people, not a building and it is our job as Christians to share the message of God's Love and Salvation. You can show God's love by making meals for shut-ins, making blankets for the nursing home or other medical treatment facility. You don't have to give a monetary gift, simply a gift of your time often brightens someone's day.

I have a few friends that will send me a text checking on me and they always make me smile because it reminds me that someone I know thought of me and took a minute of their day to message me.

I encourage you to be a light in someone's day and not be a negative Nancy.  A few words of encouragement can make all the difference in a rough day or week someone is dealing with.

Get back out there, support your local businesses (not the chain stores) so the money you spend stays in the town you purchased the t-shirt, cake or lunch.

In all things choose joy. Choose Joy daily and hourly if needed. You always have a choice in the words you speak or things you share on social media.
