Perspective

Your perspective is made up of your lifestyle, upbringing and the people and situations you grew up with.

Never allow anyone to tell you why you did something when you know the truth, because that person speaking to you is forming their opinion did NOT live your life and does not know what you knew, saw, or learned growing up.

We all have family traditions. Some we keep, some we changed along the way and some we no longer repeat for one reason or the other.  This is neither right or wrong. It was a choice you made for your life and your family going forward.

You have the power to stop the family bad habits!  People who say, I have my daddy's temper, are making excuses for themselves without taking responsibility for their actions and making an effort to change their reactions to life and situations. YOU have the power to change and make things better. Rich or poor, it doesn't matter, you always have a choice on how you behave.

Some families can go back 7 generations attending the same denomination/church. Some families are much more varied or did not grow up attending church at all.  No one has the right to put down another person for their beliefs or where they attend church.  That is not accepting or tolerant, that is being a bully and is never acceptable.

Check your prejudice/privilege and perspective at the door and you will be a better person for it. Admit when you are wrong, apologize and change your behavior/language.

We are all flawed humans created in God's image working on living our best life. Kindness and love go a lot further than judgement or putting down another.
