Mistakes, Corrections and Errors, Oh My

We all make mistakes! (God made us human, not perfect!)

Most are correctable and don't cause any long-lasting harm.

I saw a meme somewhere that says if you have to make corrections, you are at least making an effort. Now that I think about that, there is a lot of truth to that statement.

I have always been a bit of a perfectionist and really can put some hate on myself if/when I mess up. When I worked in accounts payable, It ate me alive when I had invoices with corrections to be made.

Early on, my supervisor took me to lunch and told me to relax about it. She said what we do is not brain surgery so no one is going to die over a clerical error. So, from that day forward, I did my best to not let the corrections get to me.

So, if you are like me today and seemingly drowning in things you must fix, take a deep breath, maybe a walk around the block (it is a gorgeous day here in TN) and tackle those mistakes one at a time and know you will get the hang of whatever you are learning eventually.

I tend to freak out and expect to get fired over a mistake these days. But with the encouragement of my husband, a friend and a supervisor that is not freaking out, I know I can tackle these problems and I do have someone I can call for help if I cannot figure it out on my own.

So tackle that error and find the answer to fix it!
