Tears and Illness

We found out a few months ago that our landlord's husband has terminal brain cancer and has come home to die. It is a very sad situation. There is nothing we can do to make it better. We offer to help if they need anything, and we pray for them.

Illness is all around us. Cancer takes way too many people as does Alzheimer's, COPD, ALS, MS and complications from surgeries every day.

I have a cough that just won't go away. The doctors in Nashville said years ago that it was COPD. I am slowly suffocating and know that though you can live with COPD, there is no cure for the disorder.

I have other health issues as well and all of these illnesses work together to take away my energy and constantly make me just want to give up and not try anymore.  But I have a loving husband, family and 5 grandkids that I want to spend time with.  The other day when Xander and Kourtney came to visit me at the office, I had to take a break from walking around from flower bed to flower bed because I have very little stamina.

When I go to do chores around the house, I have to do it in sections because there is no way I can do all of the chores in one short time frame.  So, I wash the dishes, take a crochet break, I start a load of laundry, take a sit down break, make the bed, take another break.  No, I am not lazy, but I simply cannot do it all in one day.

I don't want your sympathy, I don't want your prayers, I just want your understanding and acceptance.

You know who Winnie the Pooh is right? Well, no one in the 100 Acre Wood ever judged Eeyore, but they kept including him and being his friend no matter how down or sad he was.  I wish more people were like the friends in the 100 Acre Wood, they had the right attitude.

Here are a few pictures of my flowers, my new hair color and my latest crochet project.

Have a great week, be kind to one another, keep your hands to yourself and check on your friends near and far. If you are in danger, get out, seek help and call the hotline if you need assistance! 1-800-799-7233
