Thankful and Hopeful
We held our parent's 50 Wedding Anniversary Celebration on Saturday, June 2nd. Everyone that lives in Tennessee was present and accounted for in the wonderful family photo that was taken before the festivities began.
Mom and Dad had lots of long time friends from their hometown and all the places my father has ministered with over his 50 plus years of preaching the Gospel. It was nice to see everyone that visited with us on Saturday.
Xander stole the show by being the littlest one there stealing cherry tomatoes, sausage balls and strawberries that he could reach.
Unfortunately after the festivities ended and the food was put away, my father went to get the mail and slipped and fell on our driveway breaking his wrist and knee cap in the process. He underwent surgery on Sunday for both and is in the doctors care to get better over the next weeks/months.
Thank you all for the prayers and messages asking about Dad. It means a great deal to all of us.
My little hometown of Dickson has rallied around an officer's wife today as she buries her husband Sgt. Baker. He was shot in the line of duty last week. All the police, troopers and searchers found and apprehended the man & woman who shot him. Our whole town is hurting, so please keep Dickson in your prayers.
Check on your neighbors whether you know their name or not! You could be there to help them just in time.
Share the love people. The love is what this country needs, not judgement, not wars, not pain, we all need love and to love those around us (and even those we deem unlovable - like that co-worker that drives you bananas).
Here are a couple of photos from the weekend's festivities and thank you all so much for the love and kindness showered on our parents during this celebration.
