Friends and Politics

I grew up in a home where politics was not discussed. So it was not until I was nearly 30 until I saw how much a political comment can ruin a friendship, dinner or event. This breaks my heart. If you post a political tirade or something nasty on my page, I will delete it and possibly block you. Keep your beliefs on your page and I will do the same.

I have my beliefs and I vote for who I believe would do the most good for the country as a whole. I do not always vote along party lines and I do research the topics at hand.

I have a front row seat this year to watching a brother trying to sway his siblings to vote and believe the way he believes. This type of thing could sever a sibling relationship that needs to be strengthened and not broken.

I have friends that have pulled away from me for whatever reason ( I may not ever know the truth). I have friends who have money and I have friends struggling to keep their lights on each and every month.

We are all humans living in 2020 in the middle of pandemic, uprisings, riots, rallies demanding equality and it seems that everyone is fighting with someone instead of seeking common ground.

I see friends who are sad about their son/daughter senior year being changed from the norm due to the virus & gathering restrictions.

I see people that I am no longer sure if they should remain on my friends list. I am so torn and saddened by so many things that are happening in our country and the world.

My prayers are with friends dealing with illness, those out west dealing with the fires and those dealing with civil unrest in their normally quiet towns. I am praying for my nephew starting a new life out in Colorado and I am praying for my bonus daughter who is in quarantine at FHU.

I am praying for direction in my life and wisdom for which way to turn.

I pray for all those reading my blog. Please send me a message! you can message me through facebook or email me at mlcandles23@gmail.com to let me know what you think of the blog and offer suggestions for topics.
